Job hunting sucks! Other than that, things in Portland are going along well. I have met really nice people and have had time to explore the city, since I am not working. I have started to contact recruiting companies to see what they can locate for me. Perhaps they will have the connections that I lack. Connections hell, I just want a job. Hopefully one will pop up soon. Or, maybe I will end up waiting tables. Hmmm...lets hope for a job.

The peeps in PDX seem to be really nice and very sweet. Although I think everyone here is high. People are very laid back and no one seems to be in a rush to do anything. If you are not use to slow service at the restaurant, then this may not be your city, because no one is in a hurry. On the flip side, everyone is incredibly nice. It's almost too nice sometimes. People take the time to talk to you and find out how you are doing. So that more than makes up for the slow service in my opinion.

Still, I have met awesome people, and I continue to meet new people. I will feel much more relaxed and comfortable once I secure a job. That will truly be a terrible burden off my mind. I'm not very good at floating. I seem to need employment. I think that is some sick mental condition. Nevertheless it is true. Hmm, now that is interesting.

I made it!

Finally I have made it into Portland Oregon. What a crazy drive, and what a crazy time of year to move. I left two days after Christmas and started my 2400 mile journey. It should have been only four days, but wham, the blizzard of 2003 blew up in northern California and into Oregon. To make matters worse there are two very large mountains that must be crossed at the California and Oregon border. After talking like Arnold S. the entire trip, I went into little girl mode, as we made our way over the mountains. But let me tell you at some 4300 feet, and snow and ice on the road, it tends to wear you nerves down just a tad. The mountains finally crossed I made it up to Portland, unhitched the Bug from the Budget truck, and unloaded the beast. Just in time to go out for New Years Eve.

I went down to Pioneer Square in Portland Or and rung in the New Year, and then went out and had shots to warm up as it was freakin cold and rainy out. Finally made it home at 3am_ish. Woke up the next day and was snowed in! LOL. So I spent my first full day in Portland snowed in. You may have seen footage on the National news of cars sliding into each other. Yeah that took place here. I didn't leave the apt. as I don't have chains for my tires, and since I have not even seen snow in like 15 years, I thought it best not to drive on the stuff.

But I am here. Now starts the task of job hunting, and going out meeting new peeps. Wish me luck and send me good vibes.
