please give me one good reason why people (Americans or foreigners) should donate? wouldn't it be more efficient if your Gouvernment reshuffled its budget?
Helloooo: We're talking about America here. Not some banana republic.

Oh are you that chicken shit bird that was in my back yard last night Mr. Anon?

I don't care if you donate or not. These donations do not go to the government; they go to private organizations that are doing their best to help people. As for foreigners...I would just like to point out that in raw dollars the United States is the world's top donor of economic aid. Does that mean we are perfect, or that we couldn't possibly give more? No it does not mean any of those things. However, no other nation spends more in foreign aid. I don't have a problem with both government and private citizens chipping in to help each other out. Why is that wrong?

    As for being more efficient...
Government is never more efficient. In fact, the U.S. Government was designed to be inefficient and slow moving. The Founding Fathers wanted to ensure that the passions of people did not override logic and reason. I don’t know that they were a 100 percent successful, but it is true that time seems to temper passions.

What it comes down to is that if you don't want to donate, don't do it. Keep your money to yourself, and pray you never need anyone's help someday. If you want to argue politics then go to a political blog where I am sure you will be engaged in a hearty debate.
