St. Patty and the big 3-0

Well it happened. Felicia turned the big 30! I don't think it ended up being as bad as she thought. Grins. Some good natured ribbing was way past due on my part, as she was sure to give me my fair share last month when I turned 30. So we spent the week in style. Well not really, as much style as you can on a limited budget. She took off a couple of days from work. We met up with friends on Sunday at this place called Hobo's. We had food and drinks, and spent most the night up at the bar. I was drunk on diet coke, as I had the car keys. I do not mind really, I still had a great time.

The next night was birthday night. Woohoo! We started off at a cool wine bar Felicia wanted to try (and I had been to) called Crush. We both had a Man-Diva-Delight martini. I am not too sure how to describe the Man-Diva-Delight, it is sort of sour in the cranberry way, but the glass is rimmed in sugar. It's a bit naughty and a bit nice, perfect for the occasion. Crushed closed a bit early, so it was off to the Horse Brass Pub for some more drinks and food. We had some cocktails, and then dinner came. Afterwards I ran out to the beetle to grab her cake. I had a cake made with a very stunning Angelina Jolie printed on the top. I got many turned up eyebrows at the grocery store I can tell you. I will post pictures so you can all see the amazing cake.

It is also the week of all things Irish. Who needs an excuse really, but it is always fun to have one, so it was out for Saint Patty's Day. We set out to find the luck of the Irish, but alas, there was no pot of gold at the end of our rainbow. Instead we started off at this Pub called Katie O'Brien's, which we decided was only Irish in name as they seemed to be lacking any sort of Irish ale. Not that I cared since I really don't drink beer. It was packed nuts-to-butts and we decided that waiting in line 30 minutes or more for a drink was really too much, so it was off to Portland's world famous Rose and Rain Drop Pub. The men's bathroom is suppose to be haunted. I can report no strange going ons this night. The Rose and Rain Drop was not crowded at all so we pulled up a table, and I decided to try an Aussie Shiraz that I had not had before. It was tasty. Then about 1am with no gold in sight, we decided it was time to head home for the evening.

All in all it has been a fun week. I have been applying for jobs like crazy. I seem to be in send off for everything and see what sticks mode. Who knows, it may work.

Look for pictures of the 30th Birthday celebration to be up soon.
